Requirements - Fellow in Synagogue Administration

This overview is intended solely as an introduction to the areas in which requirements exist. Candidates for the FSA should consult the official guidelines in the Membership Manual and the NAASE Constitution for formal and specific requirements and conditions.

General Requirements *

* All are required

  • Be a Regular NAASE member in good standing for a minimum of three years
  • Serve as a full-time Executive Director for a minimum of three years
  • Be a registered participant in three annual Conferences
  • Complete all prescribed work within three years of application

Personal Participation Requirements *

* Candidate selects several

  • Chair or co-chair a NAASE annual Conference or Committee
  • Deliver a paper at a NAASE annual Conference
  • Deliver a paper at a USCJ Biennial or Regional Convention
  • Publish an article on administration in the NAASE Journal
  • Attend the annual Seminary Week of Study program and develop a research paper
  • Take college/university-level administration courses
  • Submit high-level programs to the NAASE Program Bank (ARC)
  • Chair a permanent NAASE committee or serve on the Board of Governors
